Fueled By Caffeine And Spite T-Shirt

Tucked inside the Fueled By Caffeine And Spite T-Shirt and by the same token and Loewe invitation this season was a small linen square embroidered with the message, “You can’t take it with you.” Carpe diem, was our Chief Critic Sarah Mower’s interpretation. And, this season, carpe we did. Now we’ve got the memories; they’re ours to treasure. And as we wait out the jet lag and readjust to our desk jobs, we’re sharing them with you. Sally Singer, Vogue Creative Digital Director My favorite moment of this fashion show season happened at Gypsy Sport when designer Rio Uribe prefaced his collection with an earnest and intelligent plea for understanding of the world’s indigent people. It explained the aesthetic of the collection but also his compassionate and conscious worldview, refined and deepened by his travels this year. It was inspiring and correct, as were his designs.

Official Fueled By Caffeine And Spite T-Shirt

Hailey Baldwin What: Sally LaPointe and Azzedine Alaïa shoes with a Tomasini bag Where: On the Fueled By Caffeine And Spite T-Shirt and by the same token and street, Paris When: March 2, 2017 Elie Saab, the man behind the epic haute couture gown Janelle Monáe wore to this year’s Academy Awards and many more famous Oscars dresses besides (hello, Halle Berry!), opened his first New York store on the corner of Madison Avenue and 70th Street earlier this week. Day one was not without its problems, but they were the kind of problems a designer doesn’t much mind. “We had a line for the dressing rooms!” his son Elie Jr. exclaimed, adding that their crew is already at work converting storage space into two additional changing areas. The RDAI-designed boutique occupies two floors with an undulating stainless-steel wall made in Italy, a marble-finished spiral staircase, and floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook the Tom Ford and Prada stores across Madison; Chloé is up the block. A sculpture by Karen Chekerdjian that will greet visitors at the entrance is due to arrive any day now. The Saabs like their new neighborhood. On the first day of business, Elie Jr. reported, they had moms and daughters shopping together. Of late, Saab has been expanding his offering beyond the red carpet dresses he’s known for into ready-to-wear, accessories, sunglasses, and fragrance. Still, this isn’t where you take your teenager for a T-shirt—unless her idea of a T-shirt comes with poufs of organza for sleeves, a body embroidered with stars (the theme of Saab’s Spring collection was disco), and a four-figure price tag. As Saab put it, “In every item, even if it’s day, there is the touch of the house. You feel the presence of the hand in every piece.” Speaking of presence, Saab’s New York clients could be seeing more of the designer himself. As the head of the family-owned business with outposts in Dubai, Paris, London, and now New York, he leads a peripatetic lifestyle, but he promises to spend more time stateside with the new shop open. Before the end of 2017, he’d like to open an additional New York location that will house his bridal offering and a made-to-measure atelier.
