Frankie Beverley is an American singer, songwriter, and record producer. He is best known as the lead singer of the R&B group Maze featuring Frankie Beverly. The group has released 14 studio albums, including their most successful album, "Live in New Orleans" (1977). Beverley has also released five solo albums.
Beverley was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 1944. He began singing in church at a young age. In 1963, he formed the group Maze with four other musicians. The group originally played soul music, but they later developed their own unique sound, which was a blend of soul, funk, and jazz.
